Connection, Creativity, Self-discovery
Let the dots guide you - An Introduction to the craft of Dot Painting
Dot painting is not only culturally significant, but it can also have many practical rewards for its exponents. Drawing each dot is an excellent way to relieve tension and relax due to the contemplative and repetitive nature of the process. Focus, patience, and hand-eye coordination may all be honed with a little dot painting practice. It may even inspire new forms of expression and creativity. Dot painting is a form of expressive art therapy that has helped many people deal with difficult feelings and thoughts. Dot painting has a wide range of mental and emotional benefits for both the artist and the viewer, far exceeding the visual worth of the final work.
Thirri Thirri - Connecting The Dots', Artist, Ash, is offering art and self-discovery workshops. Available to schools, workplaces, and other private events. Explore how to meet your teams wellbeing needs through self-awareness in a fun, inclusive environment.
Ash's experience of over 13 years in the community services sector is invaluable in leading a team, with vulnerable people and diverse communities, such as those who have; high behavioural needs, high medical needs, neuro-diversity, mental health background, culture specific needs and of low socio-economic backgrounds. ALL are welcome to gather for an opportunity to connect with themselves and each other.

Creative self‑discovery, not clinical therapy
Our self‑discovery sessions sit at the heart of what Thirri Thirri is about: meaningful connection, capacity building, and person‑centred support.
During each session we use:
Dot art to support focus, patience, and self‑expression
Mind mapping to explore where you’ve been, what’s important now, and where you’d like to go
Gentle conversation and reflection to help you connect the dots between your experiences, supports, and goals
These workshops are facilitated by Ash, drawing on many years of disability and aged care experience and a Diploma in Child, Youth and Family Intervention. We do not diagnose or provide clinical therapy. Instead, we offer a creative, strengths‑based space that can sit alongside your existing supports.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this therapy or counselling?
A: No. These sessions are not clinical therapy, psychology, or counselling. We do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Our focus is on creative self‑discovery, wellbeing, and capacity building. Many people find the sessions calming and therapeutic in feel, but they are not a replacement for medical or mental health care. We are happy to work alongside your GP, psychologist, counsellor, or other supports.
Q: Can NDIS participants use their funding?
A: Self‑managed and plan‑managed NDIS participants may be able to use their funding where the sessions align with their goals (for example, capacity building, social and community participation, or emotional regulation). We can provide invoices and documentation to support this. Thirri Thirri operates as an unregistered NDIS provider and follows the NDIS Code of Conduct.
Q: What age is suitable for teens?
A: These workshops are generally suitable for older teens (around 14+), depending on the young person’s interests, goals, and support needs. We’re happy to discuss what might be appropriate for your family.
Q: Do I need any art experience?
A: No art experience is needed at all. The focus is on the process, not on creating a “perfect” artwork. We provide simple, step‑by‑step guidance and plenty of encouragement.
Q: Where are the sessions held?
A: Sessions are held in Quorrobolong, NSW, in a scenic, peaceful setting. We can discuss accessibility needs and, in some cases, may be able to travel to you or your organisation by arrangement.

Connecting the Dots:
The Art of Self-Care
Workplace Wellbeing Workshop
Supporting your team’s mental health and wellbeing is now a core part of your duty of care under SafeWork NSW laws. Psychological safety needs the same attention as physical safety – things like stress, burnout, conflict and workload are all risks that must be managed, not left to chance.
Workplace wellbeing workshops are a simple, positive way to do this. Our “Connecting the Dots: The Art of Self-Care” session gives people practical tools to manage stress, set healthy boundaries and recharge. When teams know how to look after themselves, they show up with more focus, energy and care – for their work, their colleagues and the people they support.
For employers, these workshops send a clear message: “We take your wellbeing seriously.” They help you meet your obligations in a proactive, human way while building a culture where people feel safe, supported and ready to do their best work.
